The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 Gets New Trailer

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 revealed a new trailer earlier today. The anime begins broadcasting this October. Kinema Citrus is animating. MADKID is performing the opening theme “SIN,” which can be heard in the trailer, and Chiai Fujikawa is in charge of the ending theme song “Suki ni Natte wa Ikenai Riyu.”

Hitoshi Haga is directing the third season, with Keigo Koyonagi on the series composition (Kinema Citrus is also credited). Kevin Penkin is composing the music. The Rising of the Shield Hero 3 had an early screening at this year’s Anime Expo, where a new key visual was also revealed:

The second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero anime adaptation premiered in April of last year, after being delayed from the originally scheduled October 2021 premiere. Masato Jinbo directed the second season, with Keigo Koyanagi on series composition. Masahiro Suwa is credited for character designs. Kevin Penkin returned to compose the music. Korean DR Movie worked on the animation, alongside Kinema Citrus. Kinema Citrus animated the first season, which premiered in 2019. The anime is based on a light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Minami Seira.

Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime (in both sub and dub versions) and describes the plot as:
Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero. Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
